       @killyourfm there's a reason why I call it "soccer" so shamelessly and it sure ain't the U.S.. only one term between "soccer" and "football" is unambiguous, and it's the one *coined* for disambiguation.too many people forget just how generic "football" is - it was coined in reference to the fact that the game it initially referred to was played on foot, as opposed to on horseback. god forbid if basketball existed back then

       @stux @SwiftOnSecurity @shanselman it doesn't matter if it's free or not. certs should be free, to be clear, but certs being paid doesn't do much about the fact that, you know, bad people still have moneyit should be the way it is because everyone deserves privacy, regardless of ideology. that's the baseline. there's no system where only good people's conversations are private and bad people's conversations aren't. we can work from there to prevent bad people from doing bad things

       @kaia @SuperDicq I certainly don't mind the unified plug (remember USB 3 Type B cables?) but I do wish cable speed labels were part of the spec. eh, it's something that can be amended in pretty trivially

       @cinebox @monsieuricon @gitea I use Gitea as part of my homelab setup and love it! my only real gripe is that there's no good option for self-hosted CI (yes, I've tried Drone and gave up on it) but hey, open source is so awesome for a reason!

       @gitea @cinebox @monsieuricon  oh *wow* I am late to the party. I think last time I was mucking around with CI was Jan-Feb? which is before v1.19. I saw some people mention Gitea had built-in CI at that point but I couldn't find any documentation on the feature, so I assumed they were referring to some early concept.I'll give it a try! it looks very promising. I've had good experiences with GH Actions and nektos/act before so something based on it is always welcome!
