@BrodieOnLinux It looks like someone called Maxius tweeted about it a few days ago and pinged a few news companies' accounts. Techradar linked to it calling it the "original tweet" and they weren't pinged on it, so I'm guessing that's what sparked it. Also guessing it started there because that tweet was the first I saw of it.

@OpenComputeDesign The federated timeline feels like a surreal blend of tumblr when people used it, (what I've heard about) modern-day Facebook comments, and some other ingredient(s?) I can't quite place.

@BrodieOnLinux Right? I was genuinely surprised when I looked it up earlier and got actual Linux results instead of 18+ (or plumbing)

Scrolling the local feed, and has #hashtag seriously been trending for a solid chunk of the day? Beautiful if true

I'm not sure I understand how this new section in YT Studio works. Most of the stuff it lists for my viewers' searches is Linux-related, but this is somehow at the top?

@rathel I haven't talked about it in a video yet, but I initially installed Gentoo because LFS taught me that I kinda like source-based systems and I wanted something source-based that I could actually update. After the initial install, I've stuck with it because I like having the freedom to do whatever odd experiments I want without needing to fight my distro too much.

Had some wifi issues recently, so I got a nice giggle out of reading about Odysee completely eliminating buffering while I was getting some of the worst buffering I've had in years in another Odysee tab.Luckily, the USB wifi adapter I got seems to be helping.

@OpenComputeDesign Yeah, I was expecting this adapter to give me some sort of boost (going from 802.11n at best to 802.11ac), but this is way more than I expected. There was a stretch before getting this thing where I was having a good day if whatever speed test I used showed me Mbps instead of Kbps lol.

@david I got 3.35Mbps earlier and 11.92Mbps just now. I haven't tried power line adapters so I'm not sure how it compares to that, but this seems pretty typical for newer wifi cards on my network.https://github.com/morrownr/USB-WiFi has good lists of wifi sticks that work on Linux. I ended up going with the AWUS036ACM from the list of devices with in-kernel drivers.

@BrodieOnLinux Nah, just leave it like that. Maybe show that screen more often and see how many people ask about it.

This is the ideal PR. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.https://github.com/EpicGames/Signup/pull/24

How are init debates still a thing when we've apparently had the perfect init system for a couple years?https://github.com/a-schaefers/systemE

@BrodieOnLinux I thought people were just memeing about him going to Microsoft, but Phoronix says that's actually where he went. Interested to see what (if any) plans Microsoft has for him and systemd.
