@tilvids @thelinuxEXP A while back I had the idea of setting up an #RSS reader that allowed users to 'retweet' feed items, creating the ability to have user curated feeds. This gives RSS even more of the advantages of social media without inheriting any of the downsides. I am still looking for more users to help me test things, as well as someone to build an Apple version if anyone wants to take a look - http://gametheatre.org/porifera/

@8petros @aral Thank you for the summary. I resent seeing humans compared to sheep. I suspected this was happening. I also resent the insult to wolves who are beautiful and noble creatures and deserve better than being likened to a company like Meta. I suggest the alternative:When flesh eating bacteria say “Can’t we all just get along?”, it’s not because they want to be friends but because they want to get all over you and turn you into disgusting slime.

@mjg59 I work in creating software that is used internally by the government service I work for. I believe the code should me made open source. Independent auditors neither have access to the source nor the binaries. The public needs to know that their money is being spent wisely, as well as that there are no vulnerabilities. You can't audit the software I write, yet you might be paying for it and vulnerabilities in it might result in the leaking of your personal data.
