@georgetakei George, she also built Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, near where she grew up in a one-room shack, just so locals could have good-paying jobs.This kind of selflessness and generosity is almost unheard of today.It's a great theme park, by the way.

@futurebird Yes, that's horrible. Although the Japanese kids always wanted to "pet" the blond hairs on my arms, but they were in elementary school, so I just chalked it up to curiosity and dealt with it. But it never feels good.Also, the "aunties" would follow me around the supermarket and rifle through my cart, like "What's the gaijin going to eat tonight?" That was rather annoying.

@futurebird @samhkennedy @TerryHancock One difference between Japan and China:In Japan at the train station platform, when the train door opens, people stand aside to let people off, before boarding the train car.In China, when the train doors open, it's a free-for-all, survival of the fittest scenario. I used to have to drag my Japanese wife by the hand into the car, because she was just waiting for her turn and wouldn't fight back.
