@TonyStark Better mitigations for omicron are coming. That will include improved vaccinations and better meds to treat acute infection. In the meantime, it's still wise to protect ourselves, one another, and our healthcare teams....especially those working in our country's hospitals.Take it seriously and get vaccinated and boosted right now if you haven't yet. Wear a good mask.

@TonyStark @MariaHill I'm on the front lines I can tell you that our health care system is nothing short of a disaster for people who aren't wealthy or who are very lucky not to have any problems, which generally are younger people in the later case who also don't tend to vote as much.Corporate America has no business in health care. No one from corporate America gets out of bed at 3:30 AM to rush to the hospital to care for someone having a stroke, heart attack or is bleeding to death. Universal, national coverage would be one of the best things that could happen in this country. If anyone out there wants to care about doctors and nurses and people/patients, support that.

@TonyStark They're the ones who are trying to convince everyone it's over and lots of those people are conned by it.

@TonyStark Republicans, likely to be on board with this one soon if they aren't already:Police: Man lunged at Applebee's employee with cleaver after being asked to leave over vaccination proof | https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/594509-police-man-lunged-at-applebees-employee-with-cleaver-after-being-asked

At the end of the day, and this is kind of brutal but true, you're not going to be able to vote for Trump if you're dead. Well, some relative might try on your behalf because we know that's happened, but seriously. It'll be tough. I agree with this. If voters care, it should be addressed. However, universal healthcare, better education, universal childcare, and helping lower income families as Biden's Build Back Better planned would have helped to reduce crime but Republicans, of course, didn't pass it. We have to keep trying. Also, safer gun regulation must happen, but they block that, too. Opinion | Voters are worried about crime. This is also what you get when Republicans block needed bills, like the one they recently did to keep funding COVID prevention.Opinion | The pandemic’s latest unexpected turn: A lack of test result data - https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/04/15/covid-test-data-shortage-clouds-pandemic-future/

@MariaHill @TonyStark I used to be ok with some guns but now I want no guns. Hobbyists, find another. I am willing to talk to others and come up with realistic solutions. Just now they need to be.

@TonyStark I did an elective in medical school in North Carolina. I will never forget a terrified 14 year old, impregnated at 13, who came to the ER with shaking chills, temperature to 104F, and hypotension. She had sepsis due to a coat hangar abortion after being assaulted and afraid to tell. She almost died, but lived after an emergency hysterectomy. The people-and I hesitate to call them that because they lack all human empathy- who are in favor of these insane anti-choice laws are unspeakably reprehensible.

@harmonyears2 @TonyStark @TrackerRoo It's sickening. Abortion is often a necessary medical procedure. This is abhorrent. That there are even more human rights considered to be ungranted is more abhorrent. As a doctor, I offer care to all patients. This is all meant to limit care and will cause unnecessary death. Republicans want to make it hard to get healthcare if not impossible as it is.

@TonyStark Republicans will talk soft on abortion until elected, then continue the full-on assault of women's reproductive health care, which bleeds over into blocking necessary medications for completely unrelated and very serious illnesses. We've seen them in action before. I guarantee people understand the softer talk is only a ruse for their fear that they'll lose an election for being heartless, cruel, and draconian.

Paul Waldman has Republicans’ number here. A better educated population would vote for them even less.A good education that doesn’t sink you into lifelong debt makes a better society for everyone, with better health outcomes, too.Education is just another reason why I vote for Democrats.https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/08/25/conservatives-education-college-threat-real/

The Atlantic lets you read a certain number of articles for free so I hope everyone can read this.Don’t take getting COVID non-seriously. Fortunately, we’re protected with vaccines but we have to make sure we’ve had them and get boosters.I’ll also add since we like to remind people about these things that TFG claimed COVID would disappear like a miracle. Not in any reality we are in.https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2022/09/long-covid-brain-fog-symptom-executive-function/671393/

@TonyStark I applaud this action. As a physician, I am especially interested in having cannabis removed from Schedule I, so proper research in US medical centers can continue on therapeutic effects of cannabinoids.

@Sunspot All of these states doing things like this will end up also facing a shortage of skilled doctors who’ll want to work there. It’s bad for everyone.

@TonyStark This explains a lot. It’s from before Abbott was re-elected.“Republicans in Texas can’t offer to do much for folks, because they’ve had total control of the state for two decades. Anything they promise to fix raises the question of why it hasn’t been fixed already. Much easier to defend the state against perceived enemies, and immigrants are by far the most convenient one.”What’s Driving Greg Abbott’s Migrant Buses? – Texas Monthlyhttps://www.texasmonthly.com/news-politics/greg-abbott-escalating-migrant-buses-desantis/
