A #DIY 7-color e-paper display with an #ESP32 microcontroller and #GPS Receiver to display a map of the current location, powered by #OpenStreetMap data, of course. Using an e-paper display makes it very energy efficient and readable in natural light.https://hackaday.io/project/179890-india-navi

@Troll There are many possible aspects to assess the “health of a piece of software”. Two pop to mind already:- #Scorecards looks into security health metrics: https://github.com/ossf/scorecard- #Exodus looks into behaviors which can be dangerous for user privacy: https://github.com/exodus-privacy/exodusThere are probably more.

#OpenStreetMap mappers use different approaches to model various types of intersections. The more the number of roads intersect, the more complex the intersection becomes. In this guide, #Mapbox is presenting different cases of intersections with their best practices and recommendations to follow during mapping: https://labs.mapbox.com/mapping/mapping-for-navigation/modeling-intersections-for-map-navigation/. While you are there, be sure to check the other guides they have.

@o0karen0o Have a look at #Retroshare: https://retroshare.cc. No practical experience to share, but on paper it looks appropriate:- Fully decentralized, and designed to provide maximum security and anonymity.- Retroshare uses swarming similar to BitTorrent, to accelerate transfers.- Possible to share large files.- Privacy and anonymity is guaranteed beyond direct friends with anonymous tunnels.

@textovervideo From the homepage: “Open standards - Snikket is based on XMPP, which is a mature standard for internet messaging. There is a large network of non-Snikket XMPP software and services that are compatible with Snikket thanks to using XMPP. This includes bridges to non-XMPP networks and services, for example.”

@Bristow_69 I didn’t verify if it’s free of trackers, but you may want to look into #LibreTaxi. It’s GPL software and advertises itself as an #alternative to #Uber / #Lyft, and it works via #Telegram.

@fuxoft Blocking of #RadioGarden:- Radio Garden has been banned in Turkey since January 2022 upon the request of Radio and Television Supreme Council.- Radio Garden limited UK listeners to UK only channels. The message "Stations outside the UK temporarily unavailable" can be seen at the bottom left of the screen. No official reason for this limitation appears to have been made yet.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Garden#Blocking_of_Radio_Garden@Pepsilora

@mirek Interesting. I didn’t know there were tags for #Christmas related features in OpenStreetMap: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:xmas:feature?uselang=en.I struggle a bit with the “Don't map temporary events and temporary features” good practice: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Good_practice.But the specific “xmas” namespace helps avoid misinterpretations, so I’m tempted to tag some.
