@sir If it's a short answer, the first time I'd probably give a courteous reply.Anything else I'd charge an hourly rate

@sir this is the feature I missed most from gitolite on most git platforms. This is amazing

@sir is this a bone stock x200 or have you done any mods to keep it modern? I'm guessing that the SSD means no, but I have an x201 sitting here I want to mess with and I've been looking for ideas 😅

@sir I don't manage any large projects in GitHub, so I just assumed they were trying to make it better for that demographic.Clearly not.

@sir yep. Took me forever to settle for an X1 Carbon 7th gen but that's because I'm half deranged and therefore carry a 40% mechanical keyboard everywhere.Nothing gives me freedom and thin/light at the same time 😞

@sir Sci-fi: Aliens visit earth in shiny saucers and destroy us, bring world peace (or other transcendant knowledge), or have been carefully waiting for us to become intelligent enough for interstellar travel Reality: Aliens are either stuck on their space rock like us or have rigged something together in their equivalent of duct tape and perl just enough to get to the next destination. @sir I'm not sure. Most GraphQL clients are going to roughly expect what's documented here https://graphql.org/learn/pagination/#pagination-and-edgesExamples of in-wild usage:https://www.apollographql.com/docs/react/data/pagination/#offset-basedhttps://github.com/apollographql/apollo-android/issues/2191#issuecomment-615321112Basically, even non-relay spec'd clients tend to follow some of those normsThere's nothing in your design that stops those clients from being used, but I'm not sure I see the benefits here vs the normal pattern used by most serversPosting some sample data might help me see stuff I'm missing though

@sir 😂 agreed. In my implementations, I tend to take this and use it as a starting point since it's what users and their clients are expecting/documenting

@sir The ideological divide in software between Web/Browser Developers and, uh, everyone else is fascinating to watch. To web developers, having a fully like-native application experience is their version of Manifest Destiny. We'll catch up to native because _of course we will_. And at all costsThat's why they roll their eyes at these kinds of articles asking for less JavaScript or less scope creep on Browsers

@sir depending on your circumstances, this can be a really bad decision. For example: you get ambushed and in the ensuing scuffle end up roughing up your attacker. Police show up and break up the fight. Your attacker accuses you.You need to collect yourself and immediately point out any evidence to the police that they may otherwise miss. What witnesses were around to corroborate? Did the assailant drop a weapon? etc.

@sir strictly pointing out evidence can give your lawyer the stuff they need to exonerate you. Again, when Police == the people gathering the evidence at a crime scene, you gotta ensure they don't miss something that can help youSaying anything more than that? Playing with fire.

@emersion @sir also, promising that Pocket would be fully OSS and never following through on it
