Introductory toot time! Hi, I'm Dominic. I work as a technical officer at an Australian university, and by night I use the equipment to make multimedia paleoart in a variety of styles. My (rather parochial) focus is on prehistoric Australian flora and fauna. The pic in this toot is a Kronosaurus queenslandicus made out of used cardboard and hot-glue. I never messed with twitter and I'm super tired of zuccbook, so I'm looking forward to engaging with everyone on here!

Hi again everyone! I goofed up while getting used to the Mastodon interface and deleted my previous introductory toot. I'm Dominic. I'm a tech officer at an Australian university by day and a multimedia paleoart enthusiast by night. My main passion is prehistoric Australian flora and fauna. This picture is of a Kronosaurus queenslandicus that I sculpted with scrap cardboard and hot-glue.PS - please feel free to mock the lack of soc-med skills of this hopeless boomlennial!

Here's a little bit of textile-based paleoart to ease into the weekend. This is an (almost) entirely needle felted Australovenator wintonensis chick that I made out of a combination of merino and alpaca wool. The eyes are standard teddy bear inserts and the claws of both manus and pes are epoxy putty. There's an aluminium wire armature under all the wool that makes it fully posable and has been used for at least one quick stop-motion test.I definitely recommend needle felting, it's super fun!

@john thank you very much sir! It's a fun medium, very mindully-contemplative when you get into it.

@serpenillus spectacularly rendered as always. I particularly like the subtlety of the colour in that face.
