My son had a friend who suffered a massive heart attack and died while at swimming in the ocean at the age of 15.It was tragic. Awful. Unbelievable. This big, beautiful strapping boy. Of course, in hindsight, he was at risk because of his undiagnosed heart condition.But what should we have done? What on Earth is the point of pointing out something to scare parents with that can only be realised after the fact?Are they suggesting every single healthy child should have a thorough heart examination, just in case?Or that all children should avoid physical exertion, just in case?What is this industry that seems to exist just to scare the shit out of parents?'Let's go to the beach.''But what if the kids have undiagnosed heart conditions?!''Yeah ... you're right.
