@blacklight Huge companies are going to love Texas when they end up losing millions in blackouts. I mean even looking at it from a hyper-capitalistic standpoint, these decisions don’t make any sense. How are you going to run a factory, an oil refinery, a datacenter reliably in Texas? Unless you go back to the Electricity 1.0 era where each place needed it’s own powerhouse. But you’re not going to run a 50MW arc furnace with solar panels on your property. Not yet.

@penguin42 @philpem And when any of them dies at the end of the level you get to look through their wallets they recovered from the trap/water/fire complete with photos of their family and a little peek into their life. (Ok this is getting dark even for me.)

It can be soda too (if you’re a goofball teetotal like me)!(Typically used mega instead of kilo too. Kilo is pretty small. Power transmission gets into giga ranges.)

@w3c I remember visiting a college’s high-end computer center as a child around 1995 and them showing us this new “World Wide Web” system on the Silicon Graphics machines. Didn’t appreciate it at all at the time. It was like the first electric lights being switched on, it’s something that would touch almost every person on the planet in one way or another.

@raccoon They seriously aren’t kidding about the hydration bit you don’t need to drink ten glasses a day or constantly chug, but subtle dehydration can really sneak up on someone.Fatigue, dry mouth, headaches, tension, that sort of stuff.

I wonder if I could repair/rehabilitate old electronics as a sort of side hustle. I do enjoy doing that and have the basic tools and knowledge.Maybe even worth with someone locally who does that who is more into handling the sales side, I could bring them repaired and rehabilitated equipment.Would also want a 130°F heating box to kill anything like bedbugs before working on anything.

Found a good way in #Blender to make “game map” building layouts.▪️Set a flat plane ceiling that doesn’t have camera ray visibility, you can “look through” it. Outside light can come in through windows.▪️Set the camera looking down high above the floor plan, and adjusted the focal length so you still get some perspective from the walls and objects inside. You can play with the camera height and the focal length to adjust the perspective. #blender3d #DND #worldbuilding #architecture
