@fribbledom At the moment not much, I very much fear for our future on many fronts with anti-scientific and regressive viewpoints becoming more mainstream. The way things are going right now I see our ecosystem collapsing with nationalist governments unable and unwilling to act against the consequences. Meanwhile Chinese-style omnipresent surveilance is making personal freedom a concept of the past (my main motivation for joining Mastodon).

@fribbledom Now, being idealistic: I'm hoping for a change towards a self-preservatory progressive ideal, that views humanity as a whole. The settlement of the solar system is a neccessary step for that, because right now humanity is so incredibly vulnerable. There are several realistical mass-extinction events that can wipe this planet of us, and if we want humanity to last we need at least one 'backup population'.

@carbontwelve It is an important thing to say after all! I know she isn't much of a pleasant person, but Anita Sarkeesian did a video about LEGO that touches on this, ever since I saw that I've been wondering how to sneak female/neutral heads into hypothetical LEGO sets for my hypothetical children to give them more of an equal representation, because you know, I don't care what gender my child is, they are getting LEGO!

@carbontwelve Keeping that same stash (from my father, older sister, and me) for my hypothetical children (and my own nostalgia, 90s LEGO kind of has a special appeal to me)! :D

@carbontwelve I love those so much, because of the ride that's themed after the fort in the Legoland park in Billund and the circuit in the first LEGO Racers game! Never actually seen a set from that pirate line in person, it unfortunately is a (tiny) bit older than the era my sisters LEGO is from. All that light grey/red/yellow is just so heart-warming to see!
