It’s pretty warm, so I wanted to hang and chill outside while my takeaway Japanese food was prepared.

@ThatCrazyDude I think it is along the lines of being able to assess all the outcomes simultaneously and choosing the right one. As opposed to trying all the outcomes one at a time and finding the right one.Or being able to do the calculations with the partial results, and then picking the right option, with the correct result of the partial result, at the end of the complex process.

@FortyTwo @ThatCrazyDude I heard that in the large hadron collider project. The machine, the detector and the computer analysis are all so complex that none of the project teams could fully explain the operation to the other teams.

@Malarkey33 Yeah, the Duke of Wellington was the guy who won the battle of Waterloo. The city is named after him.

@ThatCrazyDude @FortyTwo Yeah. My understanding of long term forecasts, like two weeks, is: Imagine that the forecast is written on elastic, pined to the date on the calendar on the day it was made. But at the two week mark the elastic is stretched or shrunk, and can miss alignment by a few days.

@FortyTwo @ThatCrazyDude Yeah, that's pretty crazy. Overall I am pretty crap at running fast. In my mid 20s, I had equal speed in running to the fastest woman in my class. She and I had fun always trying to beat each other in cross country running. Two thirds of the men could easily run faster than me.

@FortyTwo @ThatCrazyDude That's wild, that's more like a 10C difference where I live.

@Invictus @CSB @LacyB Ages ago I worked in the computer department of a huge office building. Our manager was Scottish. We had a weekly meeting where she would tell us what the priorities of the weeks work were, and hand out work. No one could understand her. After the meeting, we would go back to our work area, and we would all compare notes, and tell each other what we understood. We could only do about 70% of jobs, the other 30% of stuff, we had no idea what she wanted.

@the0ther They got all the people working to swamp the worker pool, so that it could half the wages of every worker, so no one could have a middle class life style.

@FortyTwo Fun thing about coal fired EVs, they also work at renewable powered EVs. Hydrocarbon engine cars are always hydrocarbon engine cars.

@jeremiah It must be interesting to drive a car with glass low down at the front like that. That glass must be amazing, because stone chips.

@Sophistifunk 65 year old normal separate taps still work fine in my house.My friends have internet controlled lighting in their home. On new years eve, half the people at the party could not work out how to turn the light on in the toilet.

@Sabex I never thought it was a long infection, just some condition that people don't recover from some symptoms in a timely period. If they are just looking for a long period infection, that's the wrong thing to be measuring to conclude it does not exist.Actually, nothing in that headline makes any sense. I thought the infection was SARS Cov II and the bag of symptoms was called covid19. If people continue to have symptoms after the virus clears, then that's long covid, I think by tautology.

@CSB Fry some chopped bacon to crispy. Chop up that broccoli into little pieces. Chop some tasty aged cheddar cheese. Mix it all together with some mayonnaise. Perhaps some pine nuts. Salad.

@Chrisk @CSB So the old advice still stands. Eat a lot of different foods. We are omnivores.
