@levisan My sightings have taken place at the 45th Parallel, half-way between the equator and the North Pole. At that latitude, the Aurora is generally not overhead, but on the horizon. This involves shooting through a lot of atmosphere making good shots challenging. Still, it is quite something to see when we’re lucky enough to. This particular evening the added element named “STEVE” was in view. https://www.space.com/steve-aurora-powered-by-electrons.html

@macspace @levisan I hear that! I don’t blame you. We’ve camped out for several hours at Good Harbor Bay at the national lakeshore. It’s a good spot that looks north over the water with no obstructions. That’s where I took the photo I posted yesterday. It’s only fun driving around and waiting to see if they show up if you don’t have to get up at 6 in the morning!
