@futurebird When we moved back to the states, we bought a smaller house with mediocre storage. The book issue solved itself organically -- we gave the kids their books, whether they wanted them or not. The used bookstore got the books we no longer wanted (side effect: more books from the used bookstore), the fiction gravitated to two upstairs bookshelves, cookbooks and music books downstairs where they get used, and everything else stuffed in the nooks and crannies. This seems to work. It looks nice and we know where they are.
