I... don't WANT to dislike dansup, but every post of his feels like it's assembled by cutting words out of a magazine and pasting them on a computer screen.I know some people are simply awkward in text. It took years to convince my boss to stop texting in caps, for example.But it does make me curious if I'm the only one that thinks so. People seem to fave and boost these awkward posts pretty freely.

Another day, another indie VN opening with a five minute meta chapter completely ruining the flow just to carefully explain that the game is a game made by a person that made the game and hey, this is a textbox, do you know how to click on a textbox?I wish devs would realize the first things the player sees set the tone of the game. If you have a preamble, that is now the tone.Do you really want your tone to be "we directly talk down to the player with random NPCs in a black void"?

So few people mentioned medical stuff being affected by the AWS outage. They'll mention banks and such, but as someone who was at the doctor's at that time: it all broke.No billing, no patient records, half the devices refusing to work due to license verification failures...

On a completely separate note, one thing I love doing with conlangs for fictional societies is creating multiple sublanguages or modes for different kinds of situations.For example, in many real languages, there's "polite" vs "casual". Some societies also take up an entire second language for their religious stuff-In fiction, we can put that divide anywhere we want.One language used exclusively for war, maybe. Or a mode used exclusively to talk to other Pokemon trainers.It's fun.
