@peterrelph2 we have a fiat currency wherein most of it only exists as numbers in a computer, and yet the government "doesn't have the money" to fund public schools properly, feed people, house people, etc...for want of money...that is created and backed by them.It makes me angry that we punish people for not having these rather arbitrary numbers.

@LeftistLawyer it doesn't do "nothing". It lets the person know you read their post and liked it. Not all posts need to be boosted. Like, I'm not going to boost a post about someone celebrating X number years sober, but I sure as hell do want to let that person know they and their accomplishments are seen. I'll favorite a meme but I won't always boost it if that person already has way more followers than I do and the overlap is significant.

@ParadeGrotesque @RickiTarr He tells a story about being called into the highschool nurse. The way he tells it, the nurse was hitting on him and thought he was on drugs and offered him drugs. Any person with a passing familiarity with ADHD diagnostic criteria can tell from his story that the nurse thought he had ADHD and was asking him questions to ascertain if he would accept help. I can't remember which episode of knowledge fight I heard him recount the story on. He's also got a court recorded diagnosis of narcissist personality disorder. While it might explain his behavior, it certainly doesn't excuse it

Seriously struggling to concentrate when everything in the world is so fucked. Why the fuck did I have to study history instead of, I dunno, underwater basket weaving. Now I just feel like a frantic passenger in a car with a map, and a driver who refuses to hear that we're headed straight over a cliff because they don't see it yet.How are we supposed to keep on keeping on when it feels like reality is fraying at the seams?

Computer tech folks: why does Windows have both an option to turn off the computer and an option to restart it? Could we not just turn it off and turn it on again? Does the restart option do something novel?

Since they don't have fur to prevent it, their buttholes make marks whenever they sit, and a suction cup noise when they stand up from a hard surface. Because they don't have fur, they are greasy so if you don't bathe them frequently, they leave gross grease spots on your furniture and blankets. They get nasty gunk in their retractable claws that you have to clean out.They are a type of cat that cannot exist without a human steward. All hairless cats are a genetic mutation, and often have litters of kittens with some hairless, some furry, and some half and half.
