I don't think it gets talked about enough how hard and maybe sometimes impossible navigating this society is when neither your brain or body work like other people's. Might be intentional, seems built to make it hard to access resources that are needed to live. I'm sure this system kills people off regularly.

Non-violence is a red herring. When the world is violent to you, being non-violent doesn't not prevent violence. It simply guarantees the outcome of the violence imposed upon you.Violence and non-violence both are tools, to be applied when strategically useful.

I don't ever want to be rich.I think about how in disability spaces, all of us end up passing around the same 20$ trying to survive. Often the most generous have the least to give.My conclusion is that wealth must rot the soul, so that they forget how to give and forget how to care.

It's really frustrating when I see people do good work, but then don't bother to make it accessible.Real examples; Drag queen story time in a building with no wheelchair accessA union or organization putting out a statement through an image without adding alt text.Just, a little solidarity would go a hell of a long way.

I hate the desire many people have to find a diagnosis for evil, or for abuse. A few years ago, haven't seen it as much lately thankfully, it was autism; "autistic people don't have empathy" "autistic people are school shooters"These days people are sticking with cluster b disorders like NPD, ASPD, and BPD.People with any disorder can be abusive, people without any disorder can also be abusive.Anyone is capable of doing bad things, we have agency.

Something that kinda fucks with me is I see this done with diagnoses given only to children such as ODD and CD-People will take these actual children and declare them naturally evil, even though these diagnoses are given disproportionately to black children and children who have undergone significant trauma. ODD was one of my childhood diagnoses, at the time I was given ODD, Autism, Dysthymia/Anxiety, and Developmental Coordination Disorder (Dyspraxia) with motor delays I think

ODD for me was a trauma response. I had learned adults do not understand my needs, if I listened to them I could end up hurt. I learned this around the age of 2 or 3. So I stopped listening to adults and authority figures, being controlled felt extremely unsafe. Even if I wanted to do something, if doing it was phrased as an order I wouldn't comply. I could argue with adults for hours until I physically couldn't.It did indeed keep me safe I think.And I WASN'T evil.

@edithgevelyn By minimally, I mean primarily uses non-speech communication when if they can talk somewhat. This is a flexible category; I would not consider myself minimally speaking even though I struggle with speech and sometimes loose speech because of my dyspraxia, because speech is still my primary method of communication.Does that make sense?
