       Prior to the data science movement of the last ~15 years, it was seen as inappropriate for people “in the business” to write code. Code was a black art reserved for specially trained wizards in IT dev teams. This is part of why Excel/VBA has been abused for years. Excel/VBA was often the only reproducible coding tools biz folks had access to. In most (??) orgs now it’s totally normal to run R or Python in the biz. This is the data science legacy. And while DS means little now, it changed a lot.

       Apparently the old machine fetish runs in my family. We just got a thank you note from my 11 year old nephew. He noted the year and model of the mechanical typewriter at the end.

       @ceperez that’s literally what happens when the FDIC steps in. Banks can limit withdrawals before then but that always makes things worse.

       I’m pretty sure this pair of Vice Grips narrowly missed being deployed on the western front only because they were so critical to the hemp rope production effort here at home. They are going to live with me now. We’ll make art and drink craft beer and cuss a lot. They’ll love my retirement facility I run for old tools.
