@kekcoin For decentralization sake, a nice to have Mastodon feature would be "I'll have what (s)he's having". Meaning have small instances mirror the Federated timeline of a larger mutual instance.

@NicolasDorier @bryancyan Umbrel has massive uptake right now. BTCPay is a one click install on Umbrel that is exposed via Tor. Typically deployed on Rpi4 at home. I thought people can roll their own Patreon by having a lightweight website in git that can be pulled into a tiny VM with access to nginx, which could proxy requests to /donate location to an upstream on port 9050. With incidents like AWS taking down Parlor with short notice, it presents a config to quickly go nomadic on clearnet.

@nvk It’s the same phenomenon when a dudes affections get rejected by a girl and the dude in turn starts to be mean to the girl. Many super early Bitcoiners who were prematurely separated from their coin attempt to talk the price down with shit posts. The longer and farther the price runs away, they develop an unusual disdain for Bitcoin. I’m pretty sure there must be an official diagnosis in DSM IV.

@lukedashjr Twitter has been getting painful to use. The policies are getting bad and their machine learning is totally inaccurate. Not possible to moderate at scale. I believe it is collapsing on itself. It must moderate and/or silo users to grow total user base, but their very policies/acts are driving away users. Those users tend to be the ones that foster the engagement. Without them it is a one sided echo chamber. At some point the other side will vacate as well.

@pete @kekcoin @michaelfolkson @sjors This is the fault of the universities. Improperly preparing young adults for the workplace, saddling them down with debt and indoctrinating them in certain beliefs. De-fund the universities and in 5 years the problem will start to dissipate.

It has no value unless coupled with a major that leads to jobs in specific sectors like technology or 3-4 summers of relevant internships in other disciplines. Poor parental guidance as well. Parents need to stop pushing kids into Lawyer and Doctor path and then let them backtrace into a worthless liberal arts major. Massive shortfall in skilled vocational labor. Parents should steer kids towards vocational again.
