You reminded me that I actually need to practice today. It has been a goal of mine to learn CW. I need to stop being lazy.

Is there a vehicle on the market that doesn't have that problem?

@ArkyShrugger @Shadowman311 We had a Silverado work truck at the plant I worked at. We replaced the handles at least 10 times.

I've been using lcwo.net. I might try that though. LCWO progresses through the similar sounding letters first, making it a fucking slog when you get up to U and S.

Horrific is putting it mildly. If its between getting cat control / sdr software / logging to play nice, and pounding nails into my dick. I think I would choose the later.

I guess I should be fair. It's mostly the sdr software. SDRPP is the only one I can get to work with rigctrl, on linux. On windows its even worse, because all the software that will split a COM port is $ to $$$.

Holy shit. Just looked at the ax25 wiki. Is the data rate of ax25 over HF really 300 baud?

I'll look at socat. I much prefer linux over windows, but like you said the software for ham radio sucks. I like to have my cake and eat it too. I want my rig control, sdr panadapter, and logging software sync'd. You would think splitting a tty to all three would be trivial, but here we are.

Something I cannot seem to fathom, is there are still guns being manufactured with functional issues. We have centuries of firearms technology and engineering. We now have extremely advanced CNC machining technology. Countless hours of R&D and live fire testing, and niggers are still producing unreliable firearms. Nevermind aesthetics, or ergonomics the fucking thing should at the very least fire reliably. I am not a gun enthusiast by any means, but as a machinist it triggers my disgust reaction.

I know the components are mass produced, using the processes you mentioned. Those molds are machined, using the advanced machinery I mentioned. You, cannot tell me that the cost of machining a replacement die or mold is more that the cost quality control issues created by running said die until failure. One thing I forgot to mention is metrology, or our ability to measure shit. All of this technology, and they can still fumble fuck their way to failure. And yes, I have built an AR-15. It goes pew.

Autodesk would lose a lot of market share if someone ever makes CAM software that is worth a fuck, and doesn't price gouge your eyeballs out.

If you are talking about assemblies, I have been learning that process myself. Just drawing the individual components themselves, is not too bad. Constraints are fairly simple, but where most people fuck up is that they don't chose datums, and stick with them. I.e. your dimensions and constraints should be relative to one point (datum) on your part.

Your datum on that part would be the center of the 10mm bore. That is the point in which all dimensions would be referenced from. The bolt circle diamater, the angle of the pattern, etc. A constraint is what ties everything to your datum. A dimension is a constraint. So, for your part the constraints would be a concentric constraint holding the bore, and hole pattern concentric to the center. A radius or diameter dimension for the bore and hole pattern. And an angular dimension from the X or Y axis that aligns the individual holes. That is just one half of your assembly, you have to treat both parts of the assembly individually.

There are some great tutorials on youtube, it takes some trial and error to make it 'click'. The whole point is to make your sketches to where you can change any one features dimensions and constraints without affecting the other features. In your case, you should sketch the outer diameter of the part, then pad it to thickness. Then create another sketch on the face of the part, draw the center bore, and bolt circle, then pocket it through the whole part. You have to break everything up into similar features.
