And here's a video of that one coming together (I had to take a phone call in the middle, which slowed things down a bit >_< )https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGgsK396a_I

This week's #Blendsday prompt is "Computer." I made this Amiga monitor (I've got a 360 turnaround animation coming, but it'll take a few more hours to render)

@futurebird I'm not part of any collective/network focusing on kid-friendly/kid-appropriate games, but I think some of my work might fit that descriptionhttps://cheeseness.itch.io/hive-time

@futurebird I feel the same when I get excited about a lecture on local geology and then find it to be predominantly coming at things from a perspective of what's relevant to resource extraction. Can't we love rocks for the sake of loving rocks? Can't we learn about prehistory because prehistory is valued?

@futurebird I don't think I've ever pressed the "next video" button intentionally, but that is so blatantly anti-user

@stux For Steam stuff, remember that Curator Connect is an option and doesn't give transferrable keys https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/marketing/curators

@stux YMMV, but it at least becomes a way to separate people looking for keys to sell from people who're actually interested in your work

@futurebird It's tough when things seem like arbitrary unpredictable magic. I can only speak for my own journey, but it was only as an adult when I was able to set problems for myself and find joy and a sense of discovery in exploring them that I was able to build a better relationship with maths. At least with your example triangle there, you can print it out a few times to fold/cut up/otherwise compare to prove/consider/discuss that there are fundamental rules at work.

@lightweight I've asking the same question about our government's use of Microsoft's stuff for years, but this is even worse.Even if the tech vendors at play right now were benign and this wave of "AI" didn't inherently lead to dependencies that are inappropriate, it is fundamentally critical that the act/process of government is done by humans who are peers of and accountable to the people being governed. In the same way it's critical that our electoral system is by hand by voters

@futurebird @Heliograph Do crows not pass down knowledge? This study came to mind (I think I've read a couple of others too). Are there some that refute that conclusion that you know of?https://doi.org/10.1098/rspb.2011.0957

@futurebird @Heliograph Oh, sorry! I misread your previous message and was very confused >_<Anting is very broadly adopted among birds - many different lineages on different continents AFIK. Suggests it arose a long time ago, but I haven't come across any studies exploring its origins.
