@MoMartin YESSSSSS-are those the ones I designed??? In women’s wear it comes and goes depending on season, trend and age group, but I’m assuming you mean mens wear specifically and that is partly the great male renunciation in the late 18th century, and (in America especially) ideas of race & what is masculine. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Male_Renunciation Basically, with the rise of republicanism (and tbh women adopting garments that were traditionally male like riding habits) all ornamentation was sworn off
