@gnulinux wollte ich auch gerade Mal ausprobieren. Ich habe 2 Instanzen gefunden, die zu meinen Interessen passen.Der ersten passte mein E-Mail-Anbieter nicht. Bei der 2. hat meine aktuelle Instanz gemeckert, dass der Alias zurück noch nicht eingerichtet sei.Habe es dann gelassen und bleibe doch bei mastodon.social.Ich fühle mich hier eigentlich auch gut aufgehoben und wollte nur umziehen um die Instanz zu entlasten.

@BrodieOnLinux actually I have had problems with screen sharing since electron 22 or so.The newest versions of Jitsi meet and Mattermost crash because they didn't fallback to X anymore.I'm not sure what's the problem. It looks like it's something between Wayland and pipewire.I hope they fix it in the next months. Beside of this I'm using Wayland most of the time fine.We can't always stick to the old only because we know it better than the new things.

@gnulinux private lese ich Mails 90% am Smartphone. Dort lange Zeit in Gmail, seit wenigen Monaten Fairmail.Beruflich nutze ich Mails nur am PC und nutze dort Thunderbird als Client, weil Webmail einfach nicht so schön ist und ich Benachrichtigungen lieber von einzelnen Anwendungen habe als alles ausm Browser.

@BrodieOnLinux I read the proposal friday and it made me so angry I wasn't able to find words.It bothered me also the next day.I would be fine with opt-in or no-default.But I started thinking about installing another distro only because there is this proposal.And that's also bothering me. 😂 I hate it when I react so impulsively.

@gnulinux wichtig ist hier noch, dass auf einem Arbeitsgerät das Virtualbox Extensions package nicht installiert werden darf, wenn keine entsprechende Lizenz gekauft wurde.https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Licensing_FAQMein Arbeitgeber hat daher komplett von der Nutzung von Virtualbox abgeraten.

@gnulinux Der Artikel wirkt sehr als ob da jemand einen Artikel zu einem Linux-Thema schreiben wollte und eigentlich gar keine Ahnung von Linux hat und sich nicht mal die Mühe machen wollte die Anleitung zu lesen.Quasi ein Hype-Thema gegriffen und dann bei der ersten Fehlermeldung "geht nicht" geschrien.Schade um den Speicherplatz, den der Artikel braucht.

@BrodieOnLinux I'm not on KDE and don't be a streamer.But I use Fedora with gnome. So I'm since some years on wayland and can share my screen fine in most video-call-software like mattermost, jitsi, opentalk, ...
