Cont. My reason for doing so are probably not the best but they matter to me. I play CoD and I have some games that use proprietary launchers. On the other hand I understand how Win 10 harvests and sells usage data and think I value my privacy? I guess in short am I part of the problem in doing this and do I actually belong here?

@selea Thanks for the input. I just felt conflicted, at work and other places I always push for FOSS but at home I use the same proprietary crap I’m trying to convince everyone else not to use. I have changed course though, On my personal desktop I’ve returned to Ubuntu 20.04 (although I feel like Manjaro is a better option).

@redstarfish I do believe there is a default follow list for this instance, which might explain why they’re always following the same seven accounts.

@kungtotte @kensanata @Gina @selea It’s insane. They can (and probably are) literally shape(ing) governments in their image with “donations” to politicians. Allowing them to make more money they don’t need. There is so much good they could be dong instead.

@selea I almost envy that person. I wish I could be ignorant to how crap things are, especially here in America.

@51rH0n3y84d93r I have not been able to test that yet sadly, I don’t get great reception at my house. But I do plan on being out in town today so I’ll be able report back on that soon.

@51rH0n3y84d93r So I can confirm it can indeed text over SMS. I have yet to attempt a phone call but probably will today.

@joacim I plan on it! So far its not a terrible experience. It is kinda slow with the radios, as in it does take it longer to pick up and connect to LTE or WiFi when compared to my Pixel/OP7 phones. However, I remain excited. I hope what within a year or so we might have a $150 linux phone that is a viable drop in replacement for iSpy or Android (that OS does not need a pun name, we all know they’re watching).

Found this pretty interesting, a daily usable FOSS phone OS can't come soon enough.https://state.substack.com/p/please-leave-our-clipboards-alone

@selea I’ve had some run ins with YAML files lately. I hope to never see them again.

@selea I don't understand how these companies can expect growth to occur indefinitely.

So what features does v4 bring? I've not had a chance to read up on anything.

@selea I take it Grapejuice is a Roblox client? I’ve also got both my kids using Linux as well. Daughter picked elementaryOS and I set my son up with Kubutu.

@selea I'd take a look at Mikrotiks stuff. The caplite is cheap, capable and has a lot of the same features as its competitors. I've used their stuff on my home network in the past.
