@stux my high school was a 15 minute drive, or a 42 minute cycle with a 450 climb. Growing up rural in America, cars were the main way to get fur than then a few miles. The school bus would take 45 minutes to get to school. Only about 500 kids in the entire school, so 30-60 cars were typical for a day. Most kids carpooled if they knew someone with a car.

@stux it’s so weird that as a kid, we never had supervision, but most of my peers Hyper-supervise their kids to the point where the majority of their 21+ kids still live with them. So weird.

I hate having to chop up all my trees for fire safety. Makes me sad. Here’s an example. I have to limb all my trees halfway up the tree and remove 1/2 the shrubs. It’s sad.

Stranger ate some dried bamboo leaves today and one got stuck in his throat. He choked and passed out. He’s in an oxygen tent now, being treated for Aspiration Pneumonia. IV antibiotics and fluids and more oxygen. My poor baby.

Good news! Stranger is breathing room o2 now. He’s very very nervous with strangers, so I’m going to go pick him up and bring him home and basically cuddle him for the rest of the week. I hope he survives my administrations, and recovers from his pneumonia quickly.

This is a great article explaining how SAG day rate and residuals work. For a show like 'Friends' that airs on network, day rate was $500/day and residuals for a person that appeared on one episode in a speaking part could be as much as 50k a year. Orange is the new black paid $900 a day (SAG minimum for streaming), and a person that did 7 days of work for a three episode ark. @feld Friends didn't have reruns for 10 years. And the show made 1.5 billion dollars. The six stars made 816 million collectively. The one friends guest star made a total of 210k total for her participation - which isn't bad for someone that only gets 1-2 guest star gigs a year (not for lack of trying).

@feld They might rerun the entire show, but not every season in one year. They might just run highlights or favorites. If your episode doesn't air that year, you don't get paid.

@feld And all those actors on the shows like Westworld or Willow that got pulled? They now make zero. So if they got paid SAG minimum plus residuals, they will now make zero for the rest of the show. The show has pulled the content until their residual contract runs out, and then they'll sell it for nothing.
