@ThatWouldBeTelling No, this is not a "feudalist" problem. Stop projecting the deranged pathologies of your own modern era onto times of the past that they don't apply to. This is a modern problem the democratic, progressive, merchant-loving Anglo-liberal west developed, with its hatred of personal accountability & love of faceless managerialism. It's not a bug of the system, but a feature. The snake oil doesn't actually work like the salesman said it would. What a surprise!No amount of hurling warmed-over Positivist invectives about something being "feudal" or "medieval" or whatever other storybook version of history you were programmed to internalize by state-mandated compulsory education is going to change that. Instead of trying to scare ppl with vague allusions to a presumed shared antipathy about the local thane being bad, or some other societal arrangement that hasn't existed in the last hundred years, you could learn to describe & analyze the problems of the present day realistically.Because if you don't, things are just going to keep sliding this way, like they have been for a long time, & no amount of vainglorious amulet-rattling about an imagined past you don't understand is going to change the dour realities of the real, living present, the actual evils of the 21st century bureaucratic corporate Leviathan we're living in.

@grips I made the mistake of breaking my no videoslop ever again rule for what I was sure was to be the start of some fresh Vince Kino, only to remember why I never want to watch movies/shows etc again.It's a shame, bc the cinematography seems gr8, but I despised the story, characters, etc, & didn't finish the first episode. I'm told it gets worse from there so seems nothing of value was lost. Bravo Gilligan.

@grips some ppl do this to avoid doubling the vowel as that can change pronunciation. It still should be read as if the vowel is drawn out. not that uncommon ime
