@rudepundit And, frankly, it is beyond the horizon of acceptability that a nazi playing judge in Texas, who rules based on ideology and donor demands, can be allowed to dictate what is and what is not available in places like Massachusetts.I say it again. If the law refuses to police this obvious corruption, then the law is literally *begging* for the spread of political violence. There is absolutely no rationale for letting a religious zealot/donor meat puppet override actual medical evidence. None. The right wants a civil war followed by a dictatorship as large as they can carve out of what used to be the world's oldest living democratic republic. When they succeed in destroying this country, they're going to discover just how many people can shoot and make IEDs outside of their little club. The hard way. And by the time their feeble, slavish little minds figure it out, it'll be too late and we'll be Yugoslavia: Continental Size Edition With Nukes.

@rudepundit And, by the way, that last part is why we can NOT just "divorce" the nation any more than we can allow it to fall into barbarism in the guise of "religion." Not one state.Unless, of course, anyone can think of a way to feel secure living next door to right wing religious zealots who control the nuclear first strike capacity to kill every living thing on this planet 10 times over. And make it mostly unlivable for approximately 75,000 years for life as we currently understand it.Losing to these maniacs could absolutely destroy everything.

@KimPerales May I also add this WaPo Lifestyle piece from the 1991 confirmation process, which talks at length about Ginny and her new husband, Uncle Clarence.Worth a read to see how right the detractors mostly were about her influence. And because I wonder if she didn't accidentally meet him on purpose.https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/lifestyle/1991/09/10/the-nomineess-soul-mate/3e0a9aa9-fdee-41f3-b5be-a6af468d89cc/

@ProPublica He sold a pair of empty lots and his mother, along with her home, to Harlan "I don't like Hitler, I just love his paintings" Crow?Let me guess, he received 1.5 million for it? lol

@ProPublica ProPublica has the receipts. In the form of county tax records AND a deed. Harlan Crow, real estate tycoon, spent 133,000 on two empty lots and Thomas' mom's house in 2014. Gee...And, for everyone sweatily typing out how this isn't illegal..."A federal disclosure law passed after Watergate requires justices and other officials to disclose the details of most real estate sales over $1,000. Thomas never disclosed his sale of the Savannah properties. That appears to be a violation of the law, four ethics law experts told ProPublica."And, here's the smoking gun that this was not an act of historical preservation or friendship."It’s unclear if Crow paid fair market value for the Thomas properties. Crow also bought several other properties on the street and paid significantly less than his deal with the Thomases. One example: In 2013, he bought a pair of properties on the same block — a vacant lot and a small house — for a total of $40,000."

@ProPublica Also of note:1) What he listed his 1/3 stake in these properties as in the 2000s: $15,000. That would make it worth a total of 45k at the time.2) He disclosed in great detail other gifts that year. Like a stained glass pendant from Yale. But not the sale of his entire family's collected property in Savannah.3) Crow's gifts follow a pattern that drenches thomas in flattery. He bought him a statue of his childhood favorite nun in Connecticut. He says he bought the house to preserve it and make it a museum to thomas. 4) While all of this has been hitting the airwaves, another GQP giga-donor has purchased the naming rights to an entire Harvard department. For $300 million dollars. These people don't just want to own everything, and control everything. They seem intent on trying to write themselves into history as benevolent benefactors. We must NOT allow it.

#USPol #INPol #CrimesAgainstHumanity Jackson County, Indiana is being sued, along with the sherriff, the jail commander, and its medical staff, and also the contractor/vermin called Advanced Correctional Healthcare, INC, a Tennessee company that provides healthcare to the Jackson County jail, as well as 370 other jails nationwide.Under their gentle and attentive care, they arrested a schizophrenic for pulling a nurse's hair while going through a mental health emergency.Whisk! He's taken to the jail. They skip the standard booking procedures, ya know, little things, like medical and mental health diagnostics, and toss him NAKED into a solitary confinement cell. FOR THREE FUCKING WEEKS.While his mental health emergency was not treated, and in fact worsened, he could also be observed deteriorating. Because they had the fucking cell wired for 24 hour audio/visual surveillance. Assumedly so they could enjoy every second of watching someone die from malnourishment and dehydration.

And, before the reply guys show up to excuse what can only be called murder by intentional neglect, this man was not tried for any crime. He was a pre-trial detainee. That Jackson County, Indiana murdered. Along with its vermin/contractor Advanced "Correctional" "Healthcare" inc.He went to a hospital for treatment. And, instead, got locked naked in an empty cell with nothing but a uhaul blanket and a thin mattress. A medical observation log was initially kept, for whatever good that is when you refuse to actually help someone. But only for the first 7 of the 20 days. But don't worry, it gets worse. He couldn't communicate because he was out of his mind with untreated schizophrenia. So, despite there being a bathroom he could use upon request it be unlocked...he was incapable of making that request. So they instead just watched him shit in his cell and smear it on the walls.Every last medical person involved should be blacklisted from the medical profession. And charged.

But, hey, thank god the "medical" personnel were there to ignore his obvious distress. Since anyone with an ounce of sense or compassion would have been concerned that the obviously incommunicably insane man they were watching was eating food covered in his own fucking waste. Because no one helped him. They just sat there and collected over 400 HOURS of video without a single person even acknowledging that this was a living, breathing human being in an obvious mental health crisis. This is some Nuremburg level evil. And it goes beyond just regular old murder or manslaughter. This is a system-wide failure that robbed a helpless victim who had sought treatment of his humanity, his dignity, and his life. Because people took an oath to do no harm, but didn't actually think it meant anything. This man lost 45 POUNDS in 20 fucking days, while being "monitored" by "medical" personnel. Inhuman monsters. This should be tried as a crime against humanity in an outside court system.

After he was finally given any amount of care, he was taken to one hospital, then airlifted to a Cincinnati hospital. Where it took him 2 more days to die. His cause of death?"Multiple organ failure due to "refusal" to eat or drink with altered mental status due to UNTREATED schizophrenia."Remember why he wasn't treated? Because a hospital had police arrest him, then they decided to just store him in a broom closet for 3 weeks while he starved slowly while eating shit and piss soaked food and chewing on styrofoam because he needed help. His illness is eminently treatable. His death entirely avoidable. If even one "person" in the Jackson County jail could have had the moral courage and decency to insist on treating him like the patient he was and not the concentration camp experiment they made him into. But, don't worry, it gets worse.

The Jackson County prosecutor, after the Indiana State Police investigated this death, stated that he "most likely died due to a prolonged lack of attention by Jackson County jail staff, as a group."Then he proceeded to not charge ANYONE in a homicide by extreme, inhuman neglect of both a living human being in distress...and of their oaths and duties. So, it's been left to his estate to pursue legal redress through a civil action. Because, hey, mistakes were made, right?Meanwhile, vampire and CEO of Advanced "correctional" "healthcare" inc, a thing named Jessica Young, hid behind HIPAA laws to avoid commenting on how her employees murdered a helpless man by watching him eat his own shit until he died of malnutrition and organ failure. As if confidentiality fucking matters after you've murdered the patient. But she assures the Indy Star that "we take criticism of care provided by our team seriously."Yeah, sure they do. Translation: they're gonna settle with a gag order.
