Anyone got any idea why my notebook changes the max clock speed to 1,4Ghz (on an all core load) when I plug in an USB-C charger?With the normal wall charger it goes to 4,2Ghz of the max 4,8. From battery it runs on 3,2ghz. (Even if the power profile is explicitly the same for battery and wall power mode.)Wat? :boost_ok: This is a i7-11370H in a @tuxedocomputers InfinityBook Pro 14 running the stock TuxedoOS/Ubuntu.

@tuxedocomputers All of this was measured while trying to compile a full linux system. I guess all-core turbo not reaching the max turbo speed would be expected(?) but the frequency being so dependent on the power source... is very strange to me.

@tuxedocomputers Thanks, I was testing with a 45W USB-C charger, so that's most likely it. 👍 As for running from battery, is it expected to not get the full cpu power, even if no power saving mode is configured in Tuxedo Control Center?

People freaking out that gitlab.com is considering to delete inactive free-tier repositories [1]... I mean what did you expect? Someone to host all your stuff for free forever?Github will do exactly the same if that's at any point convenient to them. You are responsible for keeping your projects online/available/backed-up, if you don't have a contract with someone to do it for you.[1] https://www.theregister.com/2022/08/04/gitlab_data_retention_policy/ (so far that seems to be a still just a rumor/leak? No official confirmation afaik.)

This is definitely one of the most mean dark pattern to get marketing consent I've seen. (The red banner pops up when you first click any of the login buttons. Then you can click it again and continue.)Is there something one can do about this? Is this actually illegal by some GDPR thing?

@rysiek There's not really enough information in that toot to say anything here. Afaik neither telegram's mobile nor desktop apps even use TLS, at all, but rather their mtproto thing. Telegram bots use tls in some form I think?Also is that talking about your username? Your contacts usernames, some bot username, or is that happening when someone posts a https://<username>.t.me link?As fun as it is to laugh about telegram's security, could we at least launch substantiated criticism?

But together everyone contributes to a giant #AlternateReality game, with fake news agencies reacting to fictional press releases, etc.I'll let you explore it for yourself. 🙂 The one that got me most though?
