@todayilearned Sounded too high to me. But I see where you got that number from: "About one-third of hikers spent between $5,000-$8,000 on their hike. However, the most common amount spent was $10,000, and a whopping 24 people spent $15,000 or more! @neutrin @breadandcircuses Some public libraries (not mine, sadly) host lending libraries for power tools, electronics, baking pans, vegetable seeds, ... all kinds of stuff. One way I understand this pyramid is that it urges us to create communities that foster that kind of borrowing/sharing. So maybe the call is to check with your local librarians (while we still have them!) or churches or whatever and see if they want to host a sharing/lending space.
