It's exceedingly simple to see what they are doing. There are active politicians in government who would have ruined careers if the information got out. Since this was a political attack against the government, they are hiding the discrediting information until the politicians ARE NO LONGER IN POWER. Once they leave office, it may come out or they may end up keeping it hidden forever. Either way, they are protecting active politicians and others (perhaps cultural icons or non-elected officials). I'll state for the record: I am for government transparency regardless of the cost. This is too important to cover up for the elite, we need to drain the swamp and get in highly ethical people who are not PEDO.

Socioeconomic conditions always create an equilibrium in which people can afford the goods they need. Sure GDP matters, but the fact that russia has much more population puts it on a scale not comparable to a US State. Just as a gotcha to this, Moscow happens to be the most expensive city in the world to live in, much more expensive than any Texas town with only perhaps downtown Austin reaching anything comparable.
