@futurebird @arclight @Okanogen @FeralRobots This was a thing in the South of France. 35-ish years ago, there were wide-scale floods, so every town in the South oof France built flood mitigation defences.25 years ago, in Nimes, the town council were complaining about the constant maintenance bills for something "that we will never need..." That year, they decided to ok the funding, but it was going to be reviewed next year. 1/2

@feike @urixturing @pluralistic @notjustbikes They also provided the evidence that is being used in court. They were legal investigators and are now operating as expert witnesses in the court cases. Newag are commiting fraud and performing market manipulation. The people making those decisions are liable to criminal charges, as well as being personally liable to lawsuits from Newag's stockholders. Who is going to buy trains from Newag in future?

@neilk @feoh This is the right way to do things. The bank's IT department will be liable for all of her extra expenses, and the Bank's HR department should be involved, as well as the bank's insurance company. No proper off-boarding procedure, which means that they cannot confirm that everything was done properly.If the banks IT department are screwing up like this, then where else are they failing to do their job. Report them, and act as whistleblowers to the insurance company.

@neilk @feoh You'll get the whistleblowers protections from the insurance company, as well as setting up the bank's IT department for a full audit.Add in a call to the regulator, as these actions mean that they will be acting out of compliance with the security reg's for their banking licence.Bonus points if you own any stocks in the bank, as that makes you a minority stockholder which adds in another set of legal protections.

@neilk @feoh It won't make up for the short-term annoyance, but rather than acting on your own, the simpler way to fight a bureaucracy, is to get another bureaucracy to fight on your behalf, just by doing their job. As long as you have a clear goal as to the resolution that you want, you'll be fine. Sorry about the hassle she had. Luck to you both. :D
