@mk This is why I can't be a coder anymore. I just don't have that antisocial attitude; that so-deep-in-the-weeds-I-can't-see-the-forest-for-the-trees anymore; sneering at users; perpetually aggrieved; resentful of everyone else; think impatient with everyone's inferior knowledge, attitude.I'm too capable of relating to the rest of the world to be a coder anymore! (OK, well, I still find 99.9% of people unbearable in one way or another, but I'm at least capable of empathizing with most people enough that I can work with them and solve mutual problems together.)

Can someone tell 4th_WaveNow to delete the tweet that has them in limbo at twitter? I know the tweet is perfectly reasonable and on principle they shouldn't have to delete it. But right now we all need 4th_WaveNow to have a presence on Twitter. They can speak their minds free of Big Brother here at Glindr in the meantime. Need a hand here: I'm trying to remember the name of the trans-identifying male who was the subject of some recent controversy:- was a writer; I think he had written a piece for the new york times?- was revealed to have emotionally and sexually abused his ex-wife, and had admitted to raping her in divorce court testimony- is a deadbeat dad, won't pay child support- calls his ex-wife a "TERF" even though she identifies as non-binary and has since become re-married to another trans-identifying male.Anyone remember this person's name??

I too have always found myself fascinated with the phenomenon of cults -- and religion in general, and even more broadly, just the way the human mind is so irrational and susceptible to bad ideas and thinking processes.It's everywhere! Very few people take the time to hone their critical thinking skills, and I wish more people did. I wish critical thinking was mandatory in school, and even emphasised as a cornerstone of education. Truly, critical thinking skills can do more to improve your life -- and improve the human condition -- than almost anything else.When people talk about how education is so important for uplifting disadvantaged communities, what they really mean is that the tools of critical thinking unconsciously develop in the process of undergoing a formal education. So why don't we make that unconscious process conscious? Why don't we come out and explicitly teach the tools of critical thinking instead of letting them take hold on the sly, as a side-effect of being forced to learn history and mathematics and literature??Anyways, I've made two videos this week about cult behaviour and trans activism (my first two videos ever!)
