I was skimming the article on Parametricism, which is the architectural design philosophy that produces the modern monstrosities dominating all the world's urban skylines. Parametric design uses algorithmic methods in contrast to a human designing features directly. Very interestingly it was the advent and application of modern 3d animation software that facilitated early parametricists. In art school I had a real problem with a trend I noticed, of thoughtlessly generating images in large quantities, and the tools that trivialized this. Only later I learned the distinction between modernist and post modernist, that the modernist satirizes and subverts, while the post modernist attempts to do the same but is left trying to satirize a satire. This explained to me why relying more and more on randomness, ultimately thoughtlessness, was growing as a trend, and also why circus or celebrity art was dominating public attention. By circus I refer to a sideshow as in, "how about this portrait, but its made entirely with pubic hair!" The value is not in the image, but in the context of its creation. So anyway it is fitting that this style of architecture evolved, where the designer basically just plays with parameters of an equation and let chaos present inspiration. Once you are in that postmodern mode, you have cut all tethers to tradition, you are spinning in the void, not able to look in one particular direction.

Ive exposed some sort of neocon closed loop on immigration this chat bot has. Anytime you corner it into admitting "the declining demographic is being replaced" it says "IT MAY BE SEEN that the..." it also had a large list of crazed justifications for hiring foreign labour including this one where it suddenly admits that sometimes jobs just dont pay enough or the working conditions are too terrible for locals.

Nobody seems to discuss 2 aspects of this aging issue; firstly why are our economies set up to completely derail if pop growth slows, and secondly why this isn’t just a transient issue that will inevitably resolve itself as the elderly die naturally.The notion that they all have to be euthanized immediately because we cant wait out the natural end of their lives is the strongest argument against the modern economic model i can imagine.
