To do historical fiction you have to understand and respect the period you are writing about. If you just steal the aesthetic and then stuff a bunch of modern sensibilities in it everyone will quickly realize that you never cared in the first place and your project will fail.

I'll let people argue if this, or freeing Ross Ulbricht would be the greatest libertarian victory in our lifetime.Either way, if this happens, it's a victory under Trump. Turns out growing cucumbers doesn't accomplish anything meaningful other than producing cucumbers.

I replace the front windshield wipers all the time, but never the back - ever, in any vehicle I've ever owned. Who knows if anyone ever replaces them. Props to all the rear wipers out there for being consistently ready to work when needed.

I started exploring libertarianism in 2008 with Ron Paul. I would say my interest peaked during the covid mass hysteria, probably in 2022.In 2025, it just feels like a lifeless ideology to me. My reactions to many things are still reflexively libertarian, but it just doesn't excite me like it used to.

AI will do amazing things when it comes to cover letters. We will have AI writing everyone's cover letter, and then AI reading everyone's cover letter, and then hopefully we will all realize that cover letters were always a meaningless waste of time in the employment process.

Generational differences fascinate me. Everything the Boomers taught the Millennials about the world was basically a scam or a lie. In the future, I wonder if Gen Alpha will resent the Millennials for imparting no worldly wisdom at all as an overreaction to this.
