@katoytoyp5s0n3 I miss the days where games looked rougher around the edges but at least the sentiment behind creating them was more sincere. As in it really was just a few guys in a basement or small studio making the next rpg or dungeon crawler. Their goal? Simply to make a fun game with a good storyline! That's it.Right now I believe devs from the east and a few of them from Europe are the closest to embodying that original spark though it is sad when whole studios get shuttered and bought out.I hope you enjoy Stellar Blade! Despite its' fan-service Nier Automata had a great narrative and interesting lore so it just goes to show you not all games with fan-service are shallow!

Gonna say it. I don't think Doom: Dark Ages looks "woke". Conquest Dark's demo is extremely brutal old skool 90's-early 2,000s fun! A cataclysmic eclipse threw our world back into the dark ages with ravenous undead. You set out to stop the hordes either as a ranged hunter or bruiser barbarian.The dev seems very inspired by Robert E Howard,Michael Moorcock,and perhaps even HP Lovecraft. That's a quality brew by my estimation.It has what you would expect from a rogue-lite. Each run throws random power ups and armor pieces at you. Over time with each death you gradually get stronger by earning or buying helpful passives.Amusingly your male or female character starts out buck naked. (Tits n Dickz!) You are such a bad-ass even after your flesh has been ripped off your bones you keep fighting as a bloody skeleton. Revisited my Fate collection for a bit. Bought Umbral Star on sale and I must say it has a far better storyline and far better dialogue compared to Extella Link.
