@thenewoil Or use @GrapheneOS's Auto Reboot setting: https://grapheneos.org/features#auto-reboot Also helps with locking/encrypting so that fingerprints can't be used to unlock without PIN.

@killyourfm @thunderbird I can see how some might like this feature, but I'm personally annoyed by it. I tend to subconsciously highlight text with my mouse while reading, so when I hit reply I get a quote that often isn't even a full sentence. I was able to disable this feature by setting `mailnews.reply_quoting_selection` to FALSE, so I'm happy with that.

@pfm > 3. They value their convenience more than this abstract thing called privacy. This is the key right here. You will never convince someone of the benefits of #privacy if they don't value it over convenience. When talking to someone about privacy, I'd first gage their openness to ditching some conveniences for better privacy. If there's no chance of that, then no point proceeding, IMO.

@agateau As someone who has a webcam cover, I can tell you that:- Even if no one's using the laptop, there's always something to see, but not necessarily always something to hear.- It's easy to cover/block the camera, especially in a way that you can then uncover it again when you want to use it. But (AFAIK) no easy way to block the microphone (especially a way that cannot be remotely hacked) that's also easy to unblock when you want to use it.#privacy #webcam #spying #hacking

@BrodieOnLinux #Bupa recently changed their system and required users to re-activate their accounts. Mine never worked. Kept trying to login/activate and kept getting a 'system error'. After weeks of phone calls, escalations and promises it'd be fixed ("Just try again in a week"), I finally gave up, canceled my insurance and have gone elsewhere.

@BrodieOnLinux I would be opposed to this.I keep hearing how #Windows is showing more and more ads to users, and that's an #OperatingSystem that you're effectively already paying for.I know you said it'd be a one-time popup, but it sets a precedent that I'm not comfortable with. What if down the track they want to ask for contributors, or advertise one of their paid services/features...?I see this opening a floodgate of sorts, and I don't like where it could go.#Linux #advertising #foss

@thenewoil That title can be read in two very different ways..."Google fights scammers [who are] using Bard hype to spread malware"and"Google fights scammers [by] using Bard hype to spread malware"For some reason my mind initially read it the latter way 🙃

@hehemrin I use #BorgBackup and #Vorta on #Linux. Highly recommend! I'm not sure in which order I installed them (was a long time ago), but I'm sure Vorta would depend on Borg, so perhaps just try Vorta first...#FOSS

@BrodieOnLinux 100% If you value likes/stars more than genuine contributions to your repo/community, then you're doing it wrong.#GitHub
