I wondered what it takes to turn a #LISP-1 into a LISP-2, so I took one of my many tiny LISPs (http://t3x.org/klisp/22/) and started hacking. Took just a few hours to get it right, including adding FUNCTION and FUNCALL where needed.Basically I have a purely symbolic mini Common LISP now. Cool. :)

The Mini #CommonLISP I have been working on now runs on CP/M with 2416 free cons cells. Enough to load Ken Kahn's tiny PROLOG and run a few simple queries. The #AgonLight (18MHz eZ80) loads the LISP part of the code (236 lines) in 11 seconds. Simple programs run at acceptable speed, but slightly more complex PROLOG queries take *minutes*. :) #LISP #CPM #PROLOG #Z80

@stefanoI am using #FreeBSD as my main operating system since version 1.1.5. It runs on my workplace computer, on my laptop, and on my raspis. I use it for writing books, and I am browsing the web on it right now. Thanks to the FreeBSD developers for their great work over the decades!

The announcement of LISP From Nothing was on the front page of Hacker News for one day, which sold more than 50 copies. I think this is the first time in my life that the hours spent in writing/editing a book amounted to more than minimum wage.Picture: my copy of the hardcover edition, which arrived in the mail today.#LISP #writing #books

Some of the books I have written in the past 30 years. Some are not in the stack, some are not even on my homepage (http://t3x.org), some are out of print. I have lost track over the years. It has been quite a journey, though.#books #writing #LISP #compilers #yoga #buddhism #sciencefiction

The Z80 version of my tiny BASIC interpreter can now be downloaded from my homepage:http://t3x.org/nmhbasic/index.html#v3It is about three times faster than the version written in T3X/0 and needs only 14K bytes of free memory -- and I have not even started to squeeze out bytes. On an 7.4MHz RC2014 you can now play mine sweeper at a decent speed. There may be minor bugs in this version, but it seems to run all example programs without trouble.#CPM #Z80 #BASIC #retrocomputing
