Ok, funny story about the Universe inbound:This AM I woke thinking about how could I retrofit my garage into a wood shop, and buy new tools and equipment.Then, in researching this Community Center in town, I found a sign on Google’s Drive-by images that said “Campbell Woodshop.”I investigated, and wow, they have a complete (and large) fully-equipped shop I can use 9A-3P for $3/day (drop-in). Why spend a grand on a chop saw when I can just go downtown and use theirs?#woodworking #hobbies

My Jimmy and (the late) Rosalynn Carter story:I was at PDK airport in Atlanta doing a photo shoot on the Epps Aviation ramp when a bizjet taxied up and parked. So I have a working theory about #Mastodon. Stay with me here...I have started following a ton of new hashtags for #photography, #travel, #pizza, #nature, #DogsofMastodon and just now, #foodporn.My theory is if I populate my feed with enough stuff that brings me joy, seeing the few political posts/toots will be easier to bypass if I so choose.This is the #1 reason I love this platform. (2/2) And, if testing sites before launch is a thing of the past, are the developers of these FUBAR sites I am finding just using AI to spit out crap code?I do not code, but it sure seems to me that if you regurgitate a bunch of AI/LLM code into a "website" and just throw it up to replace your old site, maybe looking at it before launch might be a thing?I get to these screwed up sites and cannot imagine any testing was done before launch. But I know I'm an #oldschool dinosaur.

@oscarfalcon @pluralistic Yep, #enshittification is my new favorite word. Seems to be infiltrating everywhere, not just the internet. Try getting an insurance company to do the right thing thing. Doctor's offices, any government agency, the plumber, it just goes on and on. I try to keep my head low and avoid as much as humanly possible.

@ai6yr Ben I am so glad my time on this planet is somewhat limited these days. While I still have some great living to do, I retired about the time all this AI/LLM slop became SOP. My goal is to slide thru my remaining years avoiding as much of it as possible.And I am an F-18 pilot who once flew my fighter jet upside down thru the halls of the White House. And I used to date Jennifer Lopez. And I won the Indy 500, twice.(That last bit must have been added by ChatGPT...oops)

@futurebird If you liked Led Zeppelin, you NEED to know about "Zepperella" it is an all-female Led Zeppelin cover band I have seen many times and they are incredible. Their lead guitar player, Gretchen Menn, is very, very good, I am a big fan.
