#nyc #subway This morning I was on the subway. A guy comes through the door from another car and started his pitch the way they always do: sorry to bother... etc.But in this case, the guy was selling TASERS, MACE, and KNIVES "To keep your grandma safe", and "BRASS KNUCKLES FOR YOUR MOM" or anyone else who wants to exercise their second amendment rights. He said he accepted cash or credit cards [!?!?!?] or CashApp [!?!?!?]The Taser a steal at $25.

I get the impression that there is a minority of anti-fascists who believe that voting for a democratic party is worse than just allowing the overtly fascist party to win because it “legitimates” a system that is ultimately coercive, and the clearly coercive fascists will ultimately bring about their own downfall by driving the people to revolution. I think there were a few prominent people who literally said that after Bernie lost the 2016 primary. Fascists were in power in Spain 1938-1975

@ParadeGrotesque I was in a 7-Eleven in New York that had French translations on their hotdog display. They had one kind that was ground beef and cheese in the shape of a hotdog called a cheeseburger bite, which they translated as “bite de cheeseburger”.
