I've been playing with #GIMP recently, and here is one I am particularly proud of. This photo was a 6 second exposure of the moonrise over a river near #brisbane, and then I played with Simple Linear Interpretive Clustering Algorithms to cluster the image according to average pixel colour in segments of a given area using k-means clustering.#mastoart #art #math

@BrodieOnLinux the less full stops/punctuation you use, the smarter the argument.

@BrodieOnLinux the amount of customisation available to desktop Linux is the reason it is always going to be too scary for newcomers to become mainstream

I think an underappreciated aspect of libraries is that you don't HAVE to finish the books you borrow. If I buy a book and I don't enjoy it, I finish it anyway because I don't want to waste the money. Om top of this, I only buy books pretty sure I'll like. The library is great! I can just take a book home, read a chapter, and return it if I get bored. #reading #library

I read so much more widely then I did without a library. Simply because I am more willing to pick up books in areas I don't know anything about

@BrodieOnLinux Image-to-text (and then text-to-voice) I have also heard is a game changer for blind folks to engage with media. Asking for alt-text where it isn't provided, getting clarification on details and such

@BrodieOnLinux I find seasoning is less important than a good tenderizing, a meat mallet works well for this

@matthew @michal for a jank DIY solution. I punched a few holes in a box that the reel came in, and let the reel sit on the heated print bed overnight (with a few extra silica gel packsWorks well enough to dry out PETG, should work easily for PLA

@Stomata I literally just finished Careless People by Sarah Wynn-Williams, that was the one about Facebooks leadership and all their crazy unethical behaviour. If you are looking for something less depressing, "The Happiness of Dogs" by Mark Rowlands was my non-fiction pick of the year, some great reading on Philosophy of Mind there. I also really enjoyed Bloom by Ruth Kassinger which is all about algea, it's evolution, biology and industrial applications. More interesting than it sounds.
