@tomjennings @ai6yr I used to have both of my dogs, one male and one female, wear Southwestern-style turquoise and silver studded collars ( IMO, and historically, that kind of jewelry is very much unisex). I had one dude freak out me for having a girl dog wearing blue gemstones instead of pink, and someone else, who somehow sounded completely serious, ask if I "put that on my boy dog so that other dogs would think he was gay and he wouldn't get them pregnant?". 😵‍💫

@ai6yr @tomjennings Truly, it is a wonderment how some people achieve adulthood.

@historyofpunkrock As a very neurodivergent person, it's got to be the Ramones for me, too. I don't think many people understand how much they really did for destigmatization, even if it sounds un-PC today.

@futurebird 1. "I Wanna Be Sedated" by the Ramones. Probably hated by a ton of people, too, but they're no fun.2. "Hymn To The Local Gods" by Shriekback. All of Shriekback should be better known and loved, but this one is often overlooked even by people who do know them. ( Which seems to be a kind of neurodivergency test IME, though I've never figured out why.) Definitely deeply resonates with me as a pagan who loves the Small Gods, though.3. "Harry Houdini" by Kon Kan. It's entirely tacky crap but it's just a blast to dance to. :)

@historyofpunkrock Someone once mistook one of my homemade creations for hers---and I hadn't copied it. That was a fun little brag I got to have. :)

@historyofpunkrock With what was probably considered an exceptionally compact and modern portable stereo at the time!

@futurebird @flamecat Yes. I'd probably have actively responded with links to reputable sources with every problem there is with AI, but I suppose that's not always a good approach, especially with neurotypicals. But it's important to not let people get caught by it.

@historyofpunkrock I've often noticed lately that they somehow seem even *more* topical these days than they did 40+ years ago with songs that were meant to be topical *then*.
