@k181 au contraire, the old guy makes perfect sense. His main point---"no one confronts you"---nails it. People go along with this to be nice, to look progressive, to avoid trouble. The old guy is also correct when he tells the TIM that no one considers him a woman. Even his more basic point that 'you don't look like a woman, you don't act like a woman' is something so obvious and yet TIMs probably don't hear it as much as they need to.

If men's sporting events get redefined as 'open' events in order to get TIMs and intersex males out of the women's events, it might be amusing to see the impact on these non-binary athletes who currently compete in the women's event. Surely the 'open' would be the place an NB.

Bill Maher had Olympian and journalist Donna DeVarona on his HBO show. She's part of Martina Navratilova's group that argues that TIMs shouldn't be allowed in elite women's sports. I can't believe she misidentified NCAA TIM hurdler CeCe Telfer as the guy 'from the Connecticut case' She twice tried to make some point about Quinn, the TIF on the Canadian Olympic women's soccer team, but that confused Maher because he wanted to talk about when biology doesn't match category, so he cut her off. Devarona came across as actually rather inexperienced with this debate. Maher ended up making the case against TIMs in women's sports by himself. If you have HBO, DeVarona's segment begins at 7:23.

The Star Wars Grandpa video is comedy gold. It cracks me up every time. Grandpa is hilarious with his comebacks. He turns the TIM into a straight man, which must be pretty painful for the TIM who expected to be the lead in this two-person show. What I especially love is how Grandpa talks to this guy in a man to man style with blunt language. Fascinating NY Times article about an Albanian tradition that allows women who don't want the traditional female role to declare themselves men. No one ever considered it transgender, now or in the past. Fascinating that the NY Times even ran this. The catch is that the women have to take an oath of celibacy. @FSI It's depressing how many folks have fallen for this nonsense about 'naturally high testosterone levels'. Mboma was barred from longer distances under the same rule that barred Caster Semenya and that rule is specific to runners with XY chromosomes. The testosterone levels of Semenya and Mboma are in the NORMAL RANGE for a 'person' with XY chromosomes.

Leading trans pseudo-intellectual TIM Andrea Long Chu, now a lit critic at NY mag, posted today a long takedown of critically acclaimed novelist Hanya Yanagihara. The latter is a woman, and one of her crimes, according to Chu, is appropriation of the gay male experience. Chu accuses Yanagihara of having a "touristic kind of love for gay men." The HAES (health at any size) movement reminds me a lot of the trans movement in the denial of science and reality. Morbidly obese 'model Tess Holliday is repeating her assertion, from last year, that she has 'atypical anorexia'. But this claim was debunked last year when someone got out the DSM-V or whatever and found that even atypical anorexia requires fear of food and fat, something that is not in evidence when Holliday posts photos of herself stuffing cupcakes into her mouth while wearing a bikini.As someone who was anorexic back in the day, I could be offended by Holliday's appropriation of the anorexic 'identity' but what strkes me more is how she undercuts her whole 'fat is beautiful, I love my curves' act when she tries to attach herself to the word anorexia, which is the label for skinny girls.https://www.yahoo.com/news/tess-holliday-shocked-everyone-learned-163222500.html
