Grrr. This pisses me off. I’ve already got issues with Speak Up For Women in NZ but founder Ani O’Brien asking this question after Nat leader Simon Bridges tweets re Māori issues, is not ok. Firstly because it’s already a known fact, I can tell by looking but it was widely written about when he became leader with lots of debate on if he was ‘Māori enough’ or ‘identified enough’ 😐 she knows he is, if in doubt google it. I’m pleased to see Tau Henare saw right through the disingenuous tweet and called her out. Fuck off Ani, we don’t need a white woman policing us thanks. Especially when your group ignores my requests for help over a racist IOA request I was involved in from trying to help YOU speak at Massey when it later became clear you were never intending to speak there. Māori are just people. We don’t need to perform certain rituals, do or say certain things, speak the language or be in the correct political party. He’s Māori. END OF DISCUSSION.

Peter Tatchell wants to groom teenage girls by challenging them to accept boys bodies in their changing rooms. Apparently he says he visits schools throughout this country talking to teenagers about changing room policies like this and ‘they don’t mind’. What qualifications or safety checks does he have to be able to talk to children like this in schools? Is he visiting your school? It’s time EVERYONE started asking questions about Peter Tatchell and why schools, media and organisations choose someone like this to speak on important subjects.
