@Jaycee Sure looks like the “throat” of a volcano that has been exposed by weathering. Basically that is the part above the “stock”…but so similar as to be meaningless to differentiate…but as geologists, we are obligated to describe things in their minutiae and make these subtleties known to mankind!That’s just how we rock.

Ok…this from a 30 year bike commuter, former bike club member and overall bike friendly occasional auto driver…this is nutz. The intent is laudable, but the effect and rollout are horrendous.Virtually no one knows about these, how to operates safely within them…seems like a free-for-all. You get not them and wonder why there is no room for oncoming traffic…Are you on a one-way street? Are you going the right direction? Will incoming traffic move into bike lane?I would rather see whole roads closed to autos (except local resident traffic) or convert to one way street couplets…reserving the remainder of road for bike traffic.These are not the answer.#MakeGoodChoices #Today #Bike #PDX #Oregon #ThisIsNotTheWay

Like the Auto Workers who carried us through the pandemic to make sure the US economy didn’t tank, school teachers pulled Herculean duty to try and keep some semblance of learning underway using new methods to accommodate the lockdown.Then exposed themselves and families during COVID’s spread in a partially vaccinated community …and watched as their already behind the times pay scale was eroded by inflation topping 8% and over 6% for over a year.The district now wants to lock teachers into pay raises that would result in NO makeup for wages already lost…pay teachers for 3 years at an inflation rate that is the lowest it has been at any point in time in the last two years.The state and PPS KNEW inflation was at 8% when they asked the legislature to fund them at current service levels.
