@jhx I mean yes, just with how much fingerprinting is going on nowadays I find it a odd thing to include in a user agent. It shouldn't be relevant to the website whether you are on linux or openbsd, but it sure as hell helps them to make it easier to fingerprint who you are.

@stefano "jail42", so you're just numbering your jails? Interesting approach, do you then have some associated document stored somewhere documenting what the seperate jails actually are? Personally I just go with naming the jail with the software its primarily running (and adding the purpose afterwards if I for some reason need multiple jails with that software).

@stefano Ah I see, good this seems more organized haha Was a bit worried for a second, since as a programmer I can certainly attest to some people coming up with truly horrific naming for things.

@stefano yes, one letter variable names or even x1, x2, x3, ..., functions that are a non-standard abbreviation that I'm sure made sense to the author a few years ago but now are too cryptic to decipher, even seen a function `void iso14755(const void* arg)` (so it takes something but without saying what and does something without giving me any new value back and if I want to know any more I get to read a ISO standard or the implementation)

@stefano I'd say I'm shocked, but with what Microsoft is doing nowadays it was only a matter of time until they'd try something like this.

@gyptazy I mean it's that or it wastes your server's bandwidth to still show you a potentially outdated list.

@gyptazy That's a lot more effort for your instance as you need to not only likely make a fair number of requests to even just get all the follower names, but then also need to make another request for each of those followers to get info like display name and profile image for them and store that in your instance. And even that still depends on hoping the instance even sends you the follower list as it is technically optional and also it may omit entries due to deciding your server is not authorized to see them or whatever. It's a lot better to just tell you to look in the original instance as you get better information and it saves a lot of traffic.

@stefano How do you even.. like.. did they just audit a different website? Ok come on, please tell me this is some weird joke, or at the very minimum they didn't charge your client for *that*

@stefano I feel so sorry for whoever is unfortunate enough to be these scammers victims. (yes, I refuse to call this kind of actions anything but a scam)

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good VPS with IPv6, the option to run one of #FreeBSD , #NetBSD , #OpenBSD or some #Illumos and cheap low tiers? Literally only need one core, 1-2GB ram and 10GB storage or something along those lines and preferably amd64 or arm64. (OCI is out already, since they refuse to let me create an account. And AWS, Azure and google cloud I'd preferably avoid)Also yes, I'm totally fine if you suggest a service you work for/you own, just be transparent about it ^^

@nuintari I don't really get why I would want iMessage on android to begin with.. I want to have to interact less with shitty centralized messengers that spy on you, not more..

Can we please stop yelling at people to use firefox? No it's not better than chromium, no mozilla are equally shitty of a company as google. Just shut the fuck up and don't annoy me with that nonsens any further. If you actually care, use a non-shit fork of either (e.g. ungoogled chromium or whatever non-shit firefox version is out there, haven't tried them, don't bother telling me about them as I don't give a shit) And no I won't elaborate further, already done so in the past and can't be bothered to waste my time with mozilla evangelists any further...

@WPalant Attached is "Doc_xls.shtml", ok that's depressing. They should've at least gone for "Doc.xls.shtml", that way windows' scuffed default settings in the file explorer, that istg were literally designed just to trick inexperienced users, would've shown it as "Doc.xls" which might seem slightly less sketchy (not that I'd recommend opening any excel document you don't 100% trust either, but at least its an extension a user might think is harmless)Also I love how they say "contained in this FAX". Like are you even trying?

@gaysteve Yeah but at that point @stefano would have to deal with redhat stuff. Bad client and on top of that also bad tech, I doubt that's in his interest.
