Kind of a bummer to hear the story about Bluesky on @NPR this morning. No mention of Mastodon when talking about people looking for alternatives to Twitter. The gist was that there was nowhere to go until Bluesky. Thin reporting. Bluesky couldn’t have paid for a better ad. #TwitterMigration #NPRNews #Bluesky

My recovery in the Zoom privacy class action is the second biggest damage award I've ever recovered for being a member of a certified class in litigation. (My biggest award-- about $150) was the BarBri bar prep antitrust class action.) I was expecting, per usual, something of no actual value to me -- like a coupon for a free month of Zoom. #LawFedi #privacy

This story highlights the special vulnerability of academics at public universities, whose work and communications are subject to state open records requests and whose administrations often don’t resist political pressure. I experienced both in relation to my copyright scholarship when I was on the faculty at UIdaho.

Older, smaller buildings (sub-30K sq. ft.) in cities are the sweet spot for commercial to residential conversion. Not surprising, because older buildings are more human-scale and more likely to have offices with windows (that can open!) overlooking the street or interior courtyards/lightwells. #architecture How Feasible Is It to Turn Office Buildings Into Apartments? - Dwell https://www.dwell.com/article/office-building-affordable-housing-apartment-conversions-eb31f351-b7665c5d

It's necessary to condemn war crimes and atrocities no matter who commits them or where they are committed -- but using the phrase "our women" in that context, or any other, really needs to stop. Women are not property belonging to men or nations in wartime or any other time.

@clive @bhawthorne Maybe searching on DuckDuckGo was the mistake? I got some pretty reliable links from Google, including the Oregon Hazelnut trade association, whose roasting advice I’d take to the bank.
