       @stux What's the #federated, #opensource, #selfhosted  alternative ? Is Revolt good enough ?What I'm affraid is that people won't bother because the benefits will be too few to justify the hassle.

       @stux One of the features of Discord is that everyone in a voice chat room can be sharing their screens at the same time. A competitor that doesn't offer the same feature will have zero chances of attracting gamers.
