       @stux There is a blind spot on the Fediverse-migration conversation and that’s with professional artists & writers who need a social media presence to get the word out about their work. They may have built up an audience on corporate platforms who will not follow them here. I am trying to convince my peers to try, but it’s a hard sell—not because it’s “difficult” but because there’s a lot at stake professionally. The ‘us and them’ language can also sound patronising to an ‘outsider’

       Does anyone use #ghost to host their #blog? Has anyone tried this as a replacement for #substack? (I don’t know how to self host) is Ghost a non-profit or…?

       @stux @RoxanneG I have migrated from Substack to Ghost for the reasons you state, but the functionality is absolutely not the same. I can’t say I regret migration, but professionally it has been problematic to find all the work arounds, like networking, rss feeds and audio and video hosting that were integrated in Substack. I haven’t been able to use the Ghost Explore feature-still going back & forth with tech support. Not everyone can migrate easily. Alas.
