@calebccff you already hinted at that, but what are the actual benefits for us users compared to lets say a oneplus 6 with secureboot on?

@linmob there actually is a nice menu showing boot options, we just miss out on it until display support for the PPP is added in uboot. You can access the nice menu over serial though.

@linmob @bart How exactly is Tow-Boots boot behavior different from the PPP Explorer Edition? Its always. 1. SPI, 2. eMMC, 3. SD Card on RK3399, no matter what.Tow-Boot in fact is the only save way to make sure the SD card can be booted no matter what is on the eMMC.

@bonifartius @elaterite I do not understand this attitude. I would not be in Tech today, or the person I am if I did not enjoy the rather unfiltered access to internet we kids enjoyed in the late 2000s. Parents are so afraid of online creeps that they cut their kids of from all the chances to learn to be responsible individuals on their own, and completely dismiss offline creeps as the much greater danger.

@bonifartius @elaterite In my opinion, the current Internet is much more safe then in the 2000s. And what do the devices have to do with that.

@bonifartius @elaterite I have seen those videos and while they certainly are weird, and seem otherworldly, I do not see grave harm in them. Its internet people begging for money in unorthodox ways.In fact the encapsulation of our youth is what brought platforms like tictac to life.

@bonifartius @elaterite As someone who is actually disabled, you can shove your BS where the sun never shines. If you wan to treat your kids like that, fine. But be sure to know that when you end up in a elderly home, they will give you all of it back.

@Linux >Jolla plans to open the remaining blobsThey promised that like 10 years ago, by now they can shove that promise up their butt. Jolla is not a fair player, they are the Qt Company of the phone world.

@Linux Yea, Jolla is a totally lovable company that never absolutely f*cked their paying customers over and over and over again. And I have to yet meet someone that actually liked Sailfish OS after 2013 when its awful interface already only attracted the few people that liked the N9.

@Linux lol, you really licking some finish boots here. Jolla is fucked and by no means a trustworthy company and their product is, in terms of open-sourceness a joke even compared to a regular android mass production ROM. Its a bit more compatible with the rest of the linux ecosystem, but that does not help because the OS is such crappy buggy garbage that its not really possible to reap the benefits. Any random android phone with good postmarketos support is by far better in any way.

@Linux Considering Jollas trackrecord, it will be a miracle if they even deliver the hardware and basically the return of Jesus if they support it for more than a few months.
