@Mondobizarrro @azureazure I still haven't read Marx and am not sure my understanding of him is of any value. He seemed opportunist. So my guess he would either like it for bringing Marxism into popular consciousness or dislike it for occurring in a context in which Marxism was increasingly socially irrelevant and relegated to art, and in this case maybe a vulgar form of art.

Truth is the foundation of everything and decency grounded in truth is the common thread of all justifiable will. At odds with this is the raw belief in power, which terminates in the worship of natural selection and all of it's consequences even when they are at odds with truth and decency. Much of what is called sickness is just truth that kills you. This form of sickness is infinitely more sacred than any health which undermines truth and decency. Progress is when the number of lethal truths decreases and the amount of psychopathic health decreases.I have seen the same things as Nietzsche but rejected his assessment. The love of strength and health are still good. But they are not absolute goods. Pursued blindly they would destroy everything including themselves. This is at the heart of all perennial authoritarianism.There is no other theory I care to profess at this time. Some are more sympathetic than others, but the root is more important than the branches.

@nyx I don't really follow the politics of open source at all except for what I'm exposed to just by being adjacent to the community from so many different positions, but I just sort of figured based on inductive pattern that linux is going to get destroyed in the next 5-10 years, and have started looking at alternatives. Right now, GhostBSD is maximally usable, but lacks good security options even in basic respects. OpenBSD is functional but annoying. Redox is tantalizing but not functional and also probably in the same space of things that the bastards are going to get their hooks into. Nothing else seems terribly plausible to me. I couldn't figure out Haiku and don't think I could figure out Haiku. I could figure out Plan 9/9 front but do not want to.

@nyx I think we're nearing the point where it's dangerous to talk about the political consequences of software decisions where bad people can hear you. No politician or even lobbyist is ever going to have natural ideas about what kinds of lawfare they can do to ruin things in an advantageous way, but we're nearing the point where some of them might seize on *suggestions*

@nyx Israel responded to the vague association between trans women and Palestinian advocacy by bombing 200 trans women in an Iranian prison "symbolically". I don't think anyone understands what tit for tat would actually look like if trans women ever prosecuted aggression.
